Nikhil Mitter
CV
Nikhil was born and raised in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. He received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with a Minor in Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania. He also holds a Master of Fine Arts degree in Media Design from Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California.
Speculative design is an adaptable practice positioned across multiple disciplines encompassing interactive media, product, environmental, and artistic experience. It places significance on the versatility of creative thought and conceptual development; promoting a sensitivity for how design, research, strategy, and visual communication are articulated to connect with a range of contexts.
Nikhil's work has been published and exhibited in the United States and internationally in venues such as the Maker Faire hosted by O’Reilly’s Make magazine; ACM 2006 Interactive Arts Exhibition at the University of California, Santa Barbara; and Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, CA. He has been recognized by the Discovery Channel’s Beyond Tomorrow, Adobe’s Design Center Think Tank, the Type Directors Club; and in 2008 was a featured speaker at the New Jersey chapter's ASLA Annual Conference and The Waterfront Center's Annual International Conference.
